About
The man behind Predestined Woodworks
Predestined Woodworks was founded by Matt Bizley, who has been self-employed in carpentry and building for over seven years, based in Downham Market, Norfolk.
Matt's work spans the full range of the trade — from first and second fix carpentry for small developers to fine cabinetry built in place in family homes. That breadth is deliberate: it means clients get one skilled, reliable point of contact whether the job calls for a staircase, a run of fitted bookcases, or a complete extension.
Matt is qualified to City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in site carpentry, and the business has grown almost entirely by word of mouth — clients recommend Predestined Woodworks to friends and neighbours, and many come back time and again. A large share of our clients are retired or semi-retired homeowners who value straight talking, tidy work and a tradesman they can trust in their home.
What hasn't changed in seven years is the approach. Turn up when you say you will. Quote fairly. Do the job properly, once.

The sketch pad habit
Before Matt builds anything of size, he draws it — from pencil sketches with the measurements marked up, to digital plans and full 3D designs produced as part of your quote. So you can check the design, sizes and layout before any timber is cut. It started as a way to make sure client and carpenter were picturing the same thing; it's now one of the things clients mention most.
